COME ON BRISTOL!!!
Now is the time to have our very own Elected Mayor!
Too many key decisions in Bristol are taken by invisible committees, indifferent local councillors and unelected quangos. Important projects fail to materialise or don't even get out of the starting blocks yet no-one stands up to take responsibility.
Bristol deserves better!
An Elected Mayor could provide the vision, strong leadership and accountability Bristol has been crying out for, for years.
If we get 16,000 names to sign this petition (just over 5% of the voting population of the city of Bristol) then the city will have the opportunity to take part in a referendum on whether Bristol should have a directly elected and publically accountable mayor.
